A random question: Anybody know the name of those little round, plastic boxes that you shake, and then those snowflakes start to fall on the mini-scene contained inside? You can usually buy them at souvenir shops in different cities. If you don't know the name of these things, then feel free to suggest one.
I want to make one in class.

boxes? globes? snow globes? you want to make snow globes in class? Do you teach elves?

I generally call them snow globes. It shouldn't be too hard to make, a jar, some clay, some sprinkles. Though I'm not sure if you'd just use water or something else for the liquid.

Thank you for the replies and to Flotsam for the links. Those will be very helpful.
I had completely forgotten what to call them.
I'm going to start a separate thread about art supply stores, and see where people recommend getting things like glitter. I'll start that thread on the main General Discussion forum, cause it wouldn't be off topic
