For reasons I still am not entirely sure on, the school I signed a contract with cancelled said contract the day I returned from a Japan visa run (a week ago now). I now have an E-2 but no way to apply for an ARC.
Immigration said I have 30 days to find a new job, but in all the job hunting I've gotten a lot of recruiters saying I need an ARC before I can apply and/or switch jobs.
Any ideas on what my next steps are? Do I need to start gathering documents to start from the beginning again, or is there a way to get an ARC without a job? Is my E-2 valid, or did I waste a trip to Japan (on my own dime no less)? As a newbie to the whole teaching abroad thing, I'm a little lost as to what comes next.
Any help would be awesome. |

Get the immigration official's phone number (the one that said that you need to find a second job within 30 days) - and give this number to the recruiters - either they are wrong, or he is wrong - either way, they'll work something out. |
