Well I just got off the phone with someone from the Korean consulate in Atlanta and they told me what apparently they've been telling another poster on the board--if you're between 17-34 and male you can't get a F-4!?! What's up with that?? She said it just got changed this past december and the best should give me is a C-3.

That really blows. Anyone else know anything about this? I wonder if it's more backlash from english spectrum, etc.

Hmm...well my Mom is from Korea and so I was hoping to get an F-4 but now is E-2 the best I can hope for??

They are doing it to prevent rich families from using it as a way to avoid the draft.

It only applies to men of military age. You kind of got caught in it as a side effect not as the original intent of the policy shift.

It all started with that idiot singer Yoo Seung-joon, who kept telling his fans he would serve and then got a U.S. passport just before he had to report for duty.
