Sorry if this is a re-post, but....

So I just saw a trailer for Nintendo's newest console, the Wii...which I must say, is pretty awesome. It's made for even parents and grandparents to be able to play with their children, and it's much more "active."

You gotta watch this -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6RUKkWRK9gU&search=e3%20nintendo%20wii

More info at:
http://wii.nintendo.com/home.html

Now, does anyone know when this thing might be available (I'm couldn't find it online), and also, if I were to buy this in Korea...would it be possible to play on back home? I think some people with PS and Xbox's would know?

It does look cool, but whoever ok'd that gay name needs to be fired. Wii. What the hell is that. Revolution was so much better, if a little over-played.

And, from what I hear, PS3 has already ripped off the motion-sensitive controllers. Not that I'm running out to spend 5 or 600 on the new model. That's just rediculous. I don't care if it does have a harddrive. I think Nintendo, despite the name, has the better idea of not trying to be an all-in-one entertainment station, but just games. It keeps the cost down, obviously. You buy the new PS3, plus three or four games, and you're looking at close to a grand after taxes. Just plain stupid. I don't think even Americans, with our "must have the biggest and best new thing" mentality are that desperate for a new system.

Anyone remember the good 'ol days when the old NES was like a hundred bucks? Good times, man. Good times. And we played Super Mario Brothers until our fingers bled and were happy to buy the bandaids.

And the Wii is bringing em back man!!
Old school classic downloads!!! Rad!!
Plus I think the that Wii is a funny name and I like it.
I understand why people liked Revolution better, but Wii is sticks in you head better. And you can put it in front of game names. Wii Metroid?
The potential for a completely new and fresh gaming experience is pretty fantastic!!
Warioware is going to be my killer app.
I can't wait for Wii Mario Party!!!

Nintendo hasn't announced the officail release but it is expected to be around november when the sony "investment" is released.

Ps. I hope it's the 199.99 tag, but expect 249.99.

This graph of console prices was linked on Boingboing. Thought it was interesting. If the inflation stats are correct then, Nintendo's pricing has gone down consistently from console to console.
