| has anybody used the phone rental service provided at the airport? i'm going to be in korea for only two months and i don't really want to buy a new phone. any suggestions? |

| I'm not too sure how much the rental service is but you can buy a second hand phone for 40,000 or so. Have a look in the Cellphone thread to see where. If you're staying 2 months that would be much more economical than renting one as far as I'm aware. |

Yup... stop at the first 3 phone shops your come across and get a USED phone and put it on prepaid service. All you need is your passport and some money.
30k-60k won for the phone. NO HOOKUP fee. Pay as you go.
Doesn't get any easier. No used phones at the first 3 shops... go to #4.
The phone rental counters at the airport are fine for a week or so... but then the costs far exceed what it will cost you to buy a used phone. |

Perfectly Remodeled phone, whole new case, samsung new battery SKT V410, free initialization fee for 3 months contract'll be 110,000won.
SKT only initalization fee is 55,000won.
Negitiation is available, if you don't mind a used phone, not in good condtion, we can rent for 2 month, only for the initializing fee. 55,000...hopefully.

I think that was polite enough for this....
He CAN
Buy a used phone...decent quality for 30k-60k won...
NO contract..... pay as you go (card phone) ...
NO initialization fee from anyone... (you ask 55,000 won?? [thief])
AND he can sell or keep the phone when he is done. |

| I bought a used phone at techno mart for 80K with camera and MP3. Pay as you go with KTF. Not the best deal but I was sick of looking. |
