I was wondering if anyone could tell me what kind of area Gaeyang Gu is. Specifically I'd be living near Bakchon station. I like city life and I like to go out and have fun/goof around. I'm kinda worried that this location might be too much of the boondocks for me.

On the other hand I've heard there's a college out there and that it's not bustling but it's not countryside either. That's from the recruiter--so naturally I'm wanting to get details from others as well. General ups and downs about living in this region or in Incheon would be appreciated as well.

Thanks

I just finished working in Incheon, I was there a whole year.

I see your going into a high school, as a lone guy going into a middleschool I guess I was in a similar boat a year ago.

I had a fantastic year but the ONLY gripe I had was my location. I'm not one for partying all night i prefer to turn in around 2/3 and you are stuck in Seoul after midnight.

Incheon is gonna be what you make of it. I was really out in the sticks, so I got lonely pretty often, in my experience incheon is a blue collar area (it is a big port) and those kind of people dont normally brush up on second languages.

Personally, I'd say go to Seoul. The jobs are similar and you'll have a much better social life. Often I'd get invited out in seoul around 6.30pm and couldnt go cause the meal or whatever started at 7.30 and i'd be arriving 30mins late, and heading home 2 hours after that. The commute to Seoul is a killer.
