So what exactly is the story with public schools ?

How are they different to hogwons in terms of hours, holidays, conditions etc ...

I know someone who is thinking about applying, but they're not sure yet ...

Oh, just what we need, another 'what are the differences between hogwans and public schools?' thread.

Every page of the Job-related discussion forum will have at least one thread on this, so just go back and do some reading.

There are BILLIONs of threads on this forum, most of which are pointless, so who cares if there is one more about public schools, if you're not interested then don't read it.

Anyways, as for public schools, I work for one and have found it to be really great. It is really easy, but it can get boring at times because I have to be here from 8:30-4:30, and I only teach an average of 4, 45 minute classes a day, so there is a lot of time to play on the computer. But there are some opportunities to take on extra classes, which pays 20,000 won per hour.

Overall I am glad that I don't work for a hagwon, it seems like my friends who do are always complaining about holidays and working conditions. I work for SMOE, and it definately isn't perfect, but it's also the first year they have tried it, so I am sure things will improve.

Bang Bang..............you are dead.............

Now we can discuss....because it isn't important that it was said a million times before (like almost all human conversation/experience....) but HOW it is done now...........Life is not a filing cabinet nor a photo op.
