|
|
So I was talking to some friends about what song they'd want played at their wedding.
Hence the "happy" part.
So, I'm not talking Love Will Tear Us Apart or I Used to Love Her.
And I realized I hadn't thought about it much, or enough to come up with something definitive.
But, "In My Life" by the Beatles is my current pick.
2nd: "Never Tear Us Apart" by INXS |

Right now my pick would be "Into My Arms" by Nick Cave... love that song! |

I second "In My Life". I've actually been at several weddings where that was the wedding dance song. There are many great love songs in the world, but that one seems to have a special magic about it that lifts it above the pack...
Runner up, "Just The Way You Are" by Billy Joel... |

Walking on Sunshine, of course-- but it might be a little fast.
Always loved "Dark horse" by Amanda Marshall.

Speaking of Amanda Marshall, you might want to play "Marry Me" before the wedding...love that tune, especially the lyrics.
I also remember reading somewhere that "Wind beneath my wings" was the most played song at wedding ceremonies........maybe someone can verify that...

On my kinkier days I think I'd like F*ck You Like An Animal by NIN.
After I realize that I don't want to give my poor grandmother a heart attack on such a nice day and spoil the mood, I think I'd like Sweet Thing by Van Morrison. Or Into The Mystic, also Van Morrison, would be awesome.

Once upon a time when that song was in its heyday, I was actually at a wedding party where I had to explain to someone that it wasn't quite appropos for the occasion. |
