I was told by a recruiting firm that in order to work in Busan, I must send over my original diploma prior to attaining an E-2.
Can anyone confirm this. I have read over and over about this question, but I guess it throws you off when it comes from a recruiter that this is the way it's done in Busan.
When I asked about the visa process, the conversation all of a sudden got difficult to follow. |

The visa application process is a bit complicated but you don't neccessarilt hae to send your original degree. Many recruiting companies want you to send your original degree becasue once they have it you have to go through their company and therefore you limit your opportunities.
You can send a copy of your degree that has been notarized by a Korean Consulate. Just take or mail (call them first) your original degree along with some copies to the Korean Consulate, pay a small fee, and they'll notarise the copies for you and that is good enough for the Korean Immigration Office. |
