Try these:
http://seamonkey.ed.asu.edu/~jonb/blacklisted.html
www.englishschoolwatch.org
But remember an entry is only one person's opinion/experience.
A lot of what makes a person's time good or bad is very subjective and has a great deal to do with their own personality. How mature they are.
How well prepared they were before they came etc. |

Black / grey lists are OK to a very limited extent. They tend to be one person's very one sided opinion with the option of defense on the part of the school.
Additionally, schools often change managers as often as they change the filters in the water machine. They change owners just about as often. Many times a school will get a bad name so it will simply have a name change but keep the same problems.
Blacklists have their place but should be taken with a grain of salt and Do Not Depend on them for accurate information. Many of them are YEARS out of date in an industry that changes on a monthly basis.
Check first hand in EVERY case.
Check first hand with the current staff.
Check with MORE THAN one person.
Check when the boss is NOT looking over their shoulder.
Ask specific questions about things that are important to YOU.
Then make an informed decision about your next years employment opportunity. This is not the time to take the quick and easy route.
Sorry if that sounds like a repetitive tirade, but it really will make a difference in the quality of your job and your stay in Korea. |

Thanks for the links!!
ttompatz: The "repetitive tirade" is extremely helpful on here. There is so much to learn and it takes a while for it to sink in. You always give good advice, and thanks for repeating yourself.
And on that note, does anyone have good experiences at chain schools? I know there are warnings all through this web page, but should they just simply be avoided like the plague? I am beginning to get worn down, although I don't just want to accept an offer due to loss of patience. |
