There is a thread on another board I found highly amusing. I believe you must register to access that particular part of the forum, so I'll just quote it here:

Now, to the story. I wonder, how many of you have heard the song "You're Beautiful" by the new artist James Blunt? Well, the very first time I heard that song, I was hooked. I mean, really, really hooked. It is just a wonderfully relaxing song. Simply beautiful. The lyrics, while a bit depressing, just have a way of taking you away to another state of mind.
The music video of the song also became another factor that lured me was the music video. Yes, there have been people who criticise it. But, just the simplicity of it is astounding. It also helps that James Blunt is hot and takes off his shirt during the thing.
So, after a while of singing along to the radio version of the song, I eventually set out to by the "Back to Bedlam" C.D. for myself. I should have heeded the warning on the back of the case: "This album contain lyrics of an adult nature." So, I am thinking, right, it can not be referring to that song.
WRONG. The radio edit and music video contains the lyrics of:
Yeah, she caught my eye
As we walked on by.
She could see from my face that I was,
Flying high.
Actual lyrics:
Yeah, she caught my eye
As we walked on by.
She could see from my face that I was.

That one word totally destroyed my perception of the song. First, it went from "Awww, he is madly in love!" to "Ohhh... she rejected him because he is a drug addict." Not only that, it broke the naivete I had that, finally, I had managed to find music by an artist that upheld a standard of good music.
Guess I was wrong. That was $14.99 wasted. |
I thought it was really funny how this person was so upset about the phrase "f'ing high" (which was edited by a mod there) that she allowed it to not only utterly ruin the CD for her, but also felt compelled to get on the internet to rant about it, and post the F-word on a site where she knows it's not allowed. 
What an idiot!
Oh no, this song is so great, but wait! The guy ... cussed?!?!! OH NO!!!!! |
