I work at an elementary school through the GEPIK programme and get the standard 14 days vacation. I will be working 4 hours overtime every week throughout next semester and rather than taking the money i will take the time in lieu so that I can have a longer winter vacation. I thought I read somewhere that for each hour of overtime worked you received 2 hours in lieu however my co-teacher advised me that its 1 hour for 1 hour and I discovered this is the case on checking my contract however I am still sure I read somewhere that it was 2hrs for every 1 hr. I know there's nothing I can do as it is in my contract however I was just curious as to whether anyone else on GEPIK also thought this.

It was the new EPIK that was offering 2 hours off for each HOUR worked in overtime.

In reality what you get is 1/2 day off for each week of overtime or about 1 extra week off for the overtime in 1 semester.

Overtime (guessing at 20000 won) = 20000 X 4 (months) X 4 (weeks/month) X 4 (hours of overtime/week) = 1 280 000

That figure could fluctuate for many things. Hmmm, an extra week or that amount. I honestly don't know which I would take.
