I am looking for an image from older books on Korea (1960s, 1970s).
I was thinking sort of government type publications, tourism guides, maps, pamphlets, whatever. The image I am looking for would show mask dancing, particularly Bongsan Talchum (I am able to distinguish, if there is no subtitle, I can look at it and know which one it is).
It is not important if the book is in English, Korean, or another language, although Korean would be most helpful.
If anyone has old books lying around... can you please check? I would like such an image to illustrate my thesis...
Thank you!

Try poking around the old bookshops (there are about 10 of them) at the north end of the main street in Insadong. Lots of stuff in there. I am sure you can find what you are looking for and make arrangements to borrow/rent the book to make some scans. Alternatively you can always buy the book. |

Don't know what a library might have, but it's worth a try.
Additionally, the bookstore/gift shop in the National Museum (Icheon) has a lot of books with old images of Korea, including Korean folk traditions and customs. Again, worth a look. |

I tried the library the other day, the problem is the VOLUME of books versus the very specific thing I want. Plus, what I want could be in a book on ALMOST anything.
The old photos from the museum, I know the book series you mean, I have both of those, but what I need is photos from the late 60s and 70s, and those photos are from like the Colonial Period and before in those books. |
