I was wondering if anyone has information on what's the TV coverage going to be like of the upcoming World Cup.
Will all the games be brodcasted on regular cable or does one need to get fancy addons to be able to watch the matches? I'm hoping that Koreans do get the World Cup fever and their sportsbars will be packed with football fanatics. |

I was amazed when I first got here to notice that all ROK games were televised on all major networks (MBC, KBS, SBS) simultanously. I'm sure they will do the same in HDTV for the 2006 World Cup. As far as the non-ROK games, I'm not sure who has the rights to them, but I think it's very doubtful they will show games like Iran v. Angola on MBC HD. I'm pretty sure they will show the games live or replayed on sister stations like KBSSKY Sports, SBS Sports, or MBC ESPN. |

I have to remember that 2002 World Cup was here in korea(and Japan) so all the games were broadcast..
I am hoping most of the games will be broadcast here as the 3 major networks do have rights to show them and they show nothing at night anyway...
But you won't know until the schedules come out |
