All jokes aside, the streets in a lot of places here are awful. Broken pavement, or NO pavement. Cobble stones put down in random. Cars parked on the sidewalks, and at any given moment a motorcycle can knock you down.... while you are walking on the sidewalk!
In the winter it scares me to walk. Ice all around, and then if there is a light snow over the ice......boom! Store owners do not shovel in front of their shops usually.
Yes, some streets are solid. Yes, some shop owners do shovel. Perhaps if people sued (like they do in the USA) the streets and roads would be safer. |

I've been hesitating to respond, but what the fork.
Given Korea's horrid and ever-changing sidewalks, and soju, I do stumble on occasion.
I also have psoriatic arthritis, focused in the knees, hips and ankles.
Walking to the bathroom almost requires a legally-filed flight plan.
I once fell in Korea, cracked 3 ribs and dam near punctured a lung.
OK, I've opened up. Any other stumblers out there? |
