Why do you think Link are greeted by Apathy in Korea while Hancheonyeon and the Teachers Union are relatively well supported?
http://english.chosun.com/w21data/html/news/200606/200606010019.html
1. Do you think it is because LiNK is associated with Overseas Koreans and Foreigners and therefore viewed with suspicion?
2. Is it because their approach is passive and non-violent and therefore not as attention grabbing?
3. Is it because the Korean Media doesn't get behind them?
4. Any other suggestions? |

Id imagine a bunch of europeans protesting in the USA against the US government would meet a similar reaction..
People dont really like foreigners lecturing them in their own backyard...
I dont think its a suspicion thing, rather a pride thing. |

According to LiNK's website, they only started about two years ago and have since grown to about 20 chapters; wherever they have made in-person presentations, such as in high schools, the response has been generally positive. Sounds to me like they're doing pretty good so far. |

they're still young and what they're doing is positive and based on fact.
The teacher's union get support due to propaganda, cartoons and songs, brainwashing, and spewing hate. |

I think most koreans would rather not know and think about what is happening in North Korea. |

I'd say it's a combination of this:

and this:

I think that a lot of younger Koreans have a vague idea about what happens in North Korea, but a watered down understanding mixed with a desire not to believe it.
It's like someone not wanting to believe their brother could be a killer. Come and show proof, and the family will show you the door. |
