I am just wondering about how much one would have to pay for health care at an international clinic. The patient has the standard Korean National Health Care booklet. He is looking for consultation and probably a chest x-ray and/or other tests due to a chronic lung problem.
Can anyone give a ballpark figure? He would probably go to an international clinic at a large hospital....most likely Asan in Jamsil. Or is there a better place? I've heard the one in Itaewon is overpriced...true?
Thanks for any help. |

The international clinics are expensive.
When I fell and hurt my leg, I went to my regular doctor (who does not speak English well, but usually good enough for me). My doctor not know if my leg was broken, and so he wrote a note for me to show a taxi driver, and sent me to the Seoul National University Hospital in Bundang. The phone number is 031-787-2114. At least that is the number on my card.
NOt everyone speaks English there, but they will find some one who does.
I had been there a few times, and I never was treated better. The doctor's English was fantastic, and so was the service. Everyone was so polite.
As a Korean friend to reccomend a good hospital |

Can't recommend a specific hospital, but I've had x-rays 2x in Korea. At my local doctor, a set of 3 chest x-rays cost me 15,000 won with health insurance.
A year later, at a different clinic, a set of 3 xrays on my leg cost me 36,000 with no health insurance. |

Are there different health care policies? My boss has told me, I am covered a 100 percent, but I am still paying some costs. Anybody know why? |
