Why does my Google automatically switch back to Korean, even when I click on English in preferences?
I know that I can go here http://www.google.com/intl/en/ to get an English google, but when I'm using the quick google search box in Firefox, it's all in Korean...
It's a minor pet peeve, but I still don't like it. |

The cookie from Google is being deleted when you shutdown your browser. Do you have "Clear private data on shutdown" selected? If so, that's why. When you click on "English" or whatever, Google store that preference on your system...it's getting deleted, so it defaults to Korea. You are in Korea, so it assumes...

Set that as your homepage in the options. |

Actually, even when I go into the Preferences on the Korean Google page, and change it to English, it still refuses to change to English.
And when I click the link under the Korean Google that says "Google.com in English", it still only gives me Google in Korean.....Same thing when I do it in Opera. So, it's not a problem with the cookie being deleted as it happens instantaneously and never shows up in English...even going here http://www.google.com/en gives me Korean...Maybe KT's doing it.
But again, like I said, it is just a little thing - I can get to English, but I'd like it to be automatic....I don't remember it being like this in Thailand, but I wonder if other countries' ISP's? are as adamant about using the google in the local language.....probably, I guess. |
