Looking for some input on what to do about a new computer.

I will be replacing my desktop ASAICMW (As Soon As I Convince My Wife).

It will be used for word-processing, downloading and watching videos/TV shows, basic Internet, and working with VERY large photo files on Photoshop (I usually shoot in RAW, for those in the know).

I have a couple of questions...

1. What kind of specs should I be looking for? CPU? Graphics card? Memory? Etc...

2. Although I have never done it before, would it be too much trouble for me to build my own? I live on Jeju, so getting the components might be an issue - are they available online?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions/help.

Get a Korean to help with some of the stuff in Korean that you may not be able to get past (like giving a valid Korean ID number, whihc some places through there require) and getting the shipping address right.
