Hello everyone. I have a one year old cat that needs a home. Before anyone starts jumping down my throat about taking responsibility for the cute little guy, I want to say that he is NOT my cat. I offered to watch him for 6 weeks while his mom went home to vist. It is now going on 11 weeks and his mom has finally admitted that she isn't coming back. I will miss him when he is gone, but I just can't keep him.

Fuzzy (the name he came with) is a white, long hair cat. He is neutered, house trained and has all his first year shots. Like most cats he is pretty independent but he does like to greet you when you get home from work and he likes his nightly petting session and brush down (this is beneficial for both you and him because he does have a lot of fur). His oddest characteristic is that he LOVES to take showers with his owners. He just sits there at your feet or hangs on the tap so he can drink water that runs down).

I hope to find him a good home soon. He has a cat carrier so he is easily transported. I live in Seoul (Sillim area) if you would like to come meet him first.

I will try to figure out how to post a picture so hopefully I can get one up soon. Until then you can PM me if you are interested and I will send you a photo.

I take it you already have digital pics of Fuzzy? If so....

Get a free account on www.photobucket.com or www.yoxio.com.

Upload your photos to your account on the photo storage site of your choice.

View the photo, then right-click over it and choose the "Properties" option.

Highlight the Address(URL) that appears for the picture, then copy it.

WHen you are posting here, paste the Address(URL) of the photo into your post.

Highlight the address you have pasted into your Dave's post, then click the URL button at the top of the message window.

I hope those instructions were clear enough for you. I hope you find a great a home for your unexpected kitty! He sounds like he has a lot of personality, I wish I could take him myself. Crying or Very sad

Before I tearfully gave them up, my cats did that also. They'd literally stand there in the shower with me, playing in the water and drinking it, or just peek in from the side and get their faces wet. So weird.

I've been having cat withdrawls for the past year+. It seems to me like it would be hard to tend to a cat in Korea. For example, I've never seen cat litter or food in stores, though I'm sure both can be found. But then, you have this huge 20lb. container of litter to haul around once a week? Isn't that a major burden?

I'm curious about the technical aspects of cat ownership in Korea. If it's not too bad, I might take you up. But I don't know.

Q.

You can get everything you need. Worst case is you'll find litter and cat food at a not-so-great price in any vet clinic. Best case is you order online and get it delivered...if you have access to a Korean.

Hi there,

It does seem that about half of the pet shops in Korea tend carry mostly dog supplies, but it also seems like there is a petshop on every corner so it sort of balances things out. I have two petstores by my house where I can get litter and cat food. In the almost 3 months that I have been taking care of Fuzzy I have gone through 2 bags of food ( I just openned a 3rd) and I just finished the 2nd box of litter (I'll be openning the 3rd this weekend). I use a great brand of litter called Even Clean. It is a clumping litter, so it really cuts down on odor and you dont end up with a hugh mess of soggy litter. You just scoop out the clumps everyday and have fresh litter again.

I also feed him Science Diet (again a little more expensive), but both cost about 16000won each. Since they last almost 6 weeks per bag/box, it is really reasonably financially to take care of Fuzzy. You can always buy two of each thing and take a cab ride home (that is what I do).

I guess to sum it up. It is just as easy to take care of a cat here in Korea as it is back home. I havent found it any trouble at all. I just travel too much to take care of him and in fact I am starting to get a little nervous because my travel season starts again soon.

Here's another pic to lure you in Laughing

In that last picture, he looks suspiciously like this cat:

Has Fuzzy seen anyone about his drinking problem yet?
