Just watched a lame comedy spoof...

Comedian#1 runs out in a French jersey, supposedly being Zidane, and butchers the word "bonjour", Ok, hahaha, funny, funny.

Comedian #2 runs out in a Togo jersey... jumps around like a monkey, and in a monkeyish voice yells "togo togo togo ... oooh oooh oooh ... togo togo togo..."

And that, to all you who don't understand, is why so many of us here want Korea to do poorly at the World Cup. This is a country with 0 class.

Sure, it is a decent little place. Has turned it itself around in a very short time, has some cool traditions, and is quite the modern little jewel. BUT THIS COUNTRY CANNOT BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY when this crap is around.

And gawddam ... I'm not even the sensitive type. I laugh at pretty much everyone and everything ... but portraying your opponent as a monkey is completely unacceptable.

So I guess it's pretty much just ONE new reason whey Korea needs to be humiliated.

You should be less bothered about it IMO.

And the more you want Korea to get knocked out because of their nasty opinions on race which you find abhorrent, the more I hope they qualify from their group. God damn, I hope they qualify, because the more irritatition you have towards this kind of thing, the more likely they are to qualify.

I really, really hope Korea qualify, because it will irriate Dave's posters. And we'll have thread after thread about this kind of thing.

Of course Korea must qualify. Do you think I want to deal with full classes all this month?? Have you gone mad??? Let korea win them all!! Get all those kids home plopped in front of the telly turning their brains into deep fried dog shit with a side of rancid kimchee.

Go friggin KOREA.

know I shouldn't but:

Since Koreans can't seem to help themselves from associating Africans with monkeys, what animal would best describe Koreans?

as if similar things aren't done on SNL on a regular basis?!

come on.

yes, that's right. I do recall the French-speaking Frog skit on SNL recently. Oh yes, and there was the Jimmy Fallon in Black-face skit that had me in stitches a couple years back.

Let's call it what it is, and hope that
the next generation learns something from
all these hogwan classes about what constitutes
racism, and can make better choices of what is comedy.

That, or how to answer "How are you?" with something other
than, "I'mfinethanksandyou?"

you may say I'm a dreamer...

I've got to say that I'm even more on board than Spinoza on this one. My own feelings on the game can probably best be described by John Derbyshire (http://www.olimu.com/Journalism/Texts/Commentary/Soccer.htm), but I'm also rooting for Korea on purely schadenfreudian grounds.

Sounds pretty mild in comparison to what the English press and media do to the French, Germans and Argentinians. Sorry, Frogs, Krauts and Argies.
