Hi everyone,

Have decided to invest in a half decent camera and was wondering whether any one has had any experience with one or more of these cameras

Sony DSC-H5
Canon S3
and Panasonic DMC-FZ7 or DMC-FZ30?

If i decide to buy one the closest place where i could go is Mokpo or Gwanju (at Kumo World):

1) Would it be worthwhile to bring a co-teacher who lives there to barter the price down (do they do that in Korea?)

2) Would the above cameras have worldwide Warranty?

3) Regarding price would it worthwhile to wait till i go to somewhere bigger (Seoul) or even Japan next month?

And to kill two birds with one post:

Regarding the world cup: how are people watching it i.e. is there a channel (on normal cable) in english or is there a radio channel we could use over the TV i.e. BBC or should i start learning Korea really fast

They all rate very high. Check out dpreview.com for info. I've owned a Panasonic and I loved it. My friend owns the fz30 and it's a great camera. They use a Leica lens and have great image stabilization. Dont' have any experience with the other two but I HATE sony.

I'm a very amateur photographer (at best!), but I'm very happy with the Song DSC-H1 we bought a few months ago. I'm trying to increase my photography skills, and I find that this camera is a nice bridge between a point and shoot, and a digital SLR (which I can't justify buying at this time...but maybe in the future!).
