I'm making the inquiry for a friend coming to Korea.
Does anyone know what a chipped playstation is? And if so, then are they available here in Korea? I'm pretty sure it has something to do with hacking it so that it can play games from anywhere. But since I'm not a gamer, I don't know exactly, and I wouldn't know where to get one. I have heard though of people buying playstations here used for pretty cheap. |

Yes , chipped so it can play copied games and dvds from any region. I assume you mean PS2?
Anyway, both ps1 and Ps2 as well as X box are available in Korea pre chipped. Can't help with price as I got mine many moons ago. I'd say pretty cheap by now.
Check out Youngsan Elec. Market. You can pick up the xbox or ps2 prechipped and pre loaded (hard drive) with games. |

You can get PS2 chipped at Yongsan market. New PS2 is about 190,000 korean won. A chip is about $40.000 - $50,000 Won.
I payed $120 for chipped 2nd hand PS2.
