Numbers are mine for convenience.
1) They don't often hire directly from abroad but ocasionally they do. Because of logistical and language barriers they use a recruiter for foreign hiring (bringing in a new teacher from aborad) and local referals for hiring within Korea.
2) Keep an eye on the job boards or watch for referals from teachers who are leaving.
3) It varies. Public schools pay about 700k won for a referal. Private schools and hakwans pay anywhere from 700k up to one months salary. It often depends on volume and repeat business.
4) Recruiters fees are typically a one time payment. They get paid and they disappear from the scene.
