| I was just wondering, where the main Japan ESL teacher's web-hangout might be? I would say Dave's ESL is the main one for Korean teachers, but where is the Japan ESL one? I've looked around, and nothing seems as popular as Dave's ESL. |

At present, I live and teach in Japan.
Dave's and Bigdaikon.com are by far the most active among teachers. Dave's has primarily people working in eikawa...I'm guessing that's the equivalent of hagwon...and universities. Bigdaikon mostly has people involved in the JET program...public schools. Gaijinpot is a mixed bag, but has far more people involved in other occupations...hostessing, service industries and IT.
Dave's has a good reputation.
Gaijinpot has a mixed reputation due to lax rules about posting.
Bigdaikon has a poor reputation because of no rules about posting. |
