Crying or Very sad

Hello,

I applied with Teach Away and was accepted to teach in Korea for one year. I already feel like I am getting a complete runaround. They won't give me the name of the school -- you only get it when they mail you the contract according to them -- although the person I'm dealing with did try to get it for me from their partners in Korea. There was evidently no reply. I emailed the contact person with a bunch of questions about the school which have likewise not been answered.

I don't think this is a fair way to conduct business for potential teachers! They only give you two days to accept a post, although I asked for an extension and it was granted. Trouble was, that job went POOF because I wouldn't accept it until I got my questions answered. They have still guaranteed me a post, but this is making me nervous. I have read enough about South Korea/blacklists to feel uneasy now. The area where they wanted to place me -- Daejeon -- had eight blacklisted schools on the English Schoolwatch board.

Does anyone have any advice about dealing with this or similar experiences? Thanks much.

if you havent even started working there and you feel like you're being run around, it would in all likelihood degenerate into a nightmare once you were in their evil clutches. Most employers will at least start out treating you well, and being nice to you, even just to get you on board....
I wouldn't correspond with them further.

Tell them that if they won't give you the name of the school you will not deal with them. That is simply BS and a huge red flag. Tell them you're going to find another recruiter who will give you the name of the school.
