I have an E-2 visa, being that I took care of it before I arrived in Korea... I've been here for about two weeks and I simply want to just leave, no questions asked. It's just been a nightmare since I got here. I've already completed two contracts and I simply don't have the patience to put up with what's going on.
Will I be stopped at the airport? What are my options for leaving if I am stopped at immigration? I really don't care about being able to come back, I just want out... I'm over it. Any help would be tremendously appreciated.

Nothing will happen, if you have no plans to come back in the next couple of years then that will be the end of it..

If you want to come back within this contract year it would be usless without a lotter of release...

Immigration don't care, for all they know you are going on a holiday

No one will stop you. Just take your money and leave. You can come back anytime and you will receive a tourist stamp.

Good luck!!

You can get a tourist stamp but you can't work legally

I hate to do it but their not leaving me with many options. After having already been through a similar nightmare and having stuck it out and completed the contract, I just don't have it in me to do it again, you know?...

I just hope I'm not stopped at the airport, thus drawing the thing out even more.

Dont be so paranoid. Who do you think is going to stop you? You think they are going to force you back to your crap job and work???

Anyone who is in a unbearable work situation is free to leave ANYTIME they want. Dont allow yourselves to be bullied.

These are the ramifications:

Koreans will continue to be distrustful towards foreigners and salaries will remain low. Eventually, the free airfare deal will no longer be de rigeur. Those are the ramifications.

Instead of running, MAN UP and go through the proper channels. First, if they are violating your contract report it to the labor board. Second, tell them you are leaving and clearly state why. Third, get another job lined up ASAP.

Done.
