A. Geckos

B. Helios

C. 3 Alley Pub

D. Polly's

E. _____________

My choice would be 3 Alley Pub for the general layout, but Geckos has better food.

Helios...

Well, not as an entire night, but for atmosphere and cheap fuel before moving on.

Geckos is always good for a few early evening drinks since Helios is never busy until 10pm really.

Geckos is good on weekends in the afternoon, or even weekdays in the afternoon. Night time - forget it.

3 Alley is great, and they have a great darts team too - "Albert's Cunning Linguists".

I've never been to Helios so can't comment. I am partial to Hollywood Grille as the owner (and son of the deceased owner) are good friends and they do have the best steak in town.

Nashville rooftop is nice, but will never go into the basement again. Skip is an arsehole on two legs, but that is just my opinion.

Goldfish is a nice new place, spent a good part of my 40th birthday there last weekend.

Hmmm, where else... Friends (halfway up "the hill") is nice too. People tell me Starbutts is good, if yer into that...

Yeah, and they opened up another place in Hongdae not too long ago. That place is awesome, but in the wrong neighborhood. 4500원 for a draught beer in a student neighborhood?

Still, by far my favorite place to relax and have a beer in Itaewon. It's cheap, the music isn't too loud, the staff is cool, etc.

A few drawbacks are the size, and the fact that everyone there seems to already know each other so it can be a bit cliquey at times. Also, the music gets a bit repetitive. House/Techno is good for the vibe there, but they've been playing the same stuff for over 2 years now.

I think decent hip hop (not rap) would mesh well with the place.

Gecko's You have to be joking. the place is absolute garbage. Unfriendly staff and a very impersonal atmosphere.

3 Alley, Seoul Pub and Hollywod Grill are great places to have a beer. Each of these pubs has their regulars. I don't know anyone who would be a regular of Geko's but to all their own.

Gecko's, along with Seoul Pub, is an armpit. I think Gecko's business goes up on weekends in part due to hookers showing up there.

Three Alley Pub isn't bad, but I know many do not like the owner, though I've not had problems with him.

Scrooge's is not bad, and has the extended satellite TV service if one is into rugby.

Jester's is okay but recently raised its prices on Thirsty Thursdays.

to say that gecko's is bad but 3 alleys is good but jester's is just OK is kinda odd, considering they are all practically the same bar, right?

i like gecko's because it's the busiest, but i really don't care which one of those bars i'm in, as long as there's people there.

Is Gecko's even a pub? It seems more like a family restaurant that's frequented more by soldiers than families.

The best bars are the ones that don't cater to foreigners where drinks are actually cheap.

Race traitor,

true,true...

I find the best bars are the ones you just stumble upon.Little hole in the wall places where the owner will just let you drink away or you can have a chat with if its quiet.

Geckos is horrendous.Horrendous service-bartender just looked at the chipped glass I gave back to him, shrugged, and poured another. No apology.

3 alleys owner is an obnoxious jerk

Its all down hill from there.Seriously, why go there??

Korean birds who speak English.

Best pub/bar in Itaewon? Don't know, don't care. If you've been in one you've been in 'em all.

Seoul Pub is possibly the best and the worst because it's a great place to get chatting to people because it's small, yet there are always very rowdy people in there behaving like spastics who should be in a mental home. Shocked

Bricx is the best place to pick up drunk western chicks after getting hammered at the Three Alley.

Loft, definite close second.

Helios is a great place to find a Korean girl that will insist you take her to the Hamilton, feign a headache and steal your wallet.

Gecko's used to be good, or did I just used to like Top 40 more?

Seoul Pub could really use some new paint.

Nashville's rooftop is great in the summer, the rest of the bar is ok, too. And they have free popcorn.

Scrooge has really expensive drinks for a place called Scrooge.

My vote, though, has to go to: Indian Joe's.
