I forget the name of my insurance company, I do know, however, that they are located in Seoul. (I can't quite remember if you are married to a Korean lady or not, or if you can speak Korean). All of the paperwork can be done over the phone, accompanied with a couple of faxes.
I bought a brand new SUV (2007 model) with no 'Korean' driving experience and the insurance was around 830 000 for the year, which, considering what you would pay back home, even with a clean record, was great.
Long story short, if you want to PM me, I can locate all the contact information in the next 24 hours if you are interested.

Hey Cubanlord, I got really good insurance on my scooter through, um... I think the name is 등부화재, but the insurance boolet has the website listed as www.idongbu.com. I'm sure they cover cars, too. The plan I got was only 275,000 won for a year, and it covers everything that could possibly happen, including theft, with low deductibles. |

cool. I plan on looking at a car this weekend. I am getting my license today. Tonight, I have to do a cost-benefit analysis to see if the car is even worth it. I always feel better after seeing everything broken down. We'll see. |
