Do you normally work with just one recruiter, or do you work with several? Do you also post on websites while working with a recruiter?

There is no reason to limit yourself to the jobs available from just one recruiter, but your phone might be ringing off the hook if you apply to more than a few.

When I posted my resume, I got calls from every disreputable recruiter, a bunch of new schools, and one sexual predator (Dr. Hamilton - see the newbie forum in the international job discussion forum). I wouldn't post my resume again.

Ask them to send you "sample" contracts.

Thanks. Good information. Are there recruiters that specialize in certain types of positions/schools/locations?

some work with big chain schools, some work getting people for smaller private places. The smaller private schools are often gold mines for recruiters because they will pay a lot of money for a young white person with a B.A. degree and a passport from an english speaking country. But at the same time, these schools are often not very good places to work due to incompetent management, lack of materials, unrealistic expectations of the director, etc. I have some contacts at a couple of large chain schools and if you'd like me to get you in touch with the management there email me and I'll do it for you: [email protected]
