I am a man in is middle twenties in Korea. I am not an English teacher, Gi etc....but "corporate working professional" blah blah Smile

I wanted actually to date western girls in Korea, because you know, I wanna have a normal/serious/whatever girlfriend in my life now. Its so tireing to go to bars and clubs until morning of the next day (I have been doing that since 14 (read: eastern europe)).

But it seems to me all (almost?) western girls have some baggage? I mean, I wanna meet someon that is happy in their life, family is functioning great (most E Europe faimilies are OK) not some fights and stuff like that.......just someone that wakes up in the morning and says: " life is great" and stuff like that. I would also like a working professonal, optimistic and career orieneted person like a female shark. But sadly, foreign girls are not like that in Korea judging their mind....most of them are some sort of hippie, or separate philosphy and diet/food and stuff. And also, overweight compared to E European girls or Korean girls, so being overweigt doesn't make the tip poinit up.

Anyone has advice?? Thanks Smile

I'm going to assume this isn't a troll.

1. Stop going to bars until the wee small hours. One of my friends used to say he liked going out late because like a market the cheapest meat is always found at the end of the day when the leftovers are there. He had a point both in terms of looks and personalities.

2. Actually avoid those types of bars altogether. Start going along to the things run by expat associations or the more 'high class' get togethers. Granted a lot of the women there are married, but if you are into the MBAs (Married but available) they are plenty of those. There are some single chicks are those who are interesting and tend to enjoy the finer things in life, and less-hippy like. Hippies wouldn't spend 190k on a ball ticket. Enough said.

3. If you are after skinny chicks then join in some of the atheltic clubs and gyms. There are plenty of sporting clubs for expats and the chicks there are pretty hot.

4. A good-looking, interesting, career-minded single western woman is very rare on the ground in Korea. Most of the people that come here are guys. The western women that come do here tend to be already attached. So that already narrows your field. There are a lot of 'hippy chicks' doing their post-university asian experience (I was one once). So that narrows your field even further. Then you want the body, so your dating pool is very limited. You need to make sure you have the goods to keep these chicks, because they don't stay single for long here.

I'm sure I'm going to get flamed for this in every direction and that this thread will surely distruct into a huge western vs korean women marthon. But that's my opinion based on being in korea for a couple of years.

What's up with Flotsam? Most of his posts make him out to be a pretty laid back, normal kinda dude. Someone who might be fun to drink with and down for going out just for shi'ites and giggles.

But once in a while he seems to get so full of himself and turns into a bit of a internet-dyck.

It's easy to tell when it's raining and I'm bored.

Nice shi'ite plug, that was funny. Very Happy

One other thing, most of the time I seem like I dyck(except with a couple of people), it's usually an inside joke. Don't worry yourself.

You sound like a typical D ick. The types of girls you are after wouldn't give you the time of day, especially in bars until the wee hours of the morning. Those are called "bar flies" who gravitate towards shit.

Why cant you have a normal/serious relationship with a korean girl?

Theres a lot more normal korean girls than normal western girls here.

OP,

Go to Itaewon and go for a Korean girl who speaks English. Wanting to date specifically Western birds in Korea is like wanting to date Korean birds in London - it's a small pool.

This is NOT a 'Korean girls are prettier' comment. I'm saying it's a numbers game. Common sense surely?

Most the western women here leave a lot to be desired but then you have to find a Korean girl who can speak English unless you enjoy the "language barrier." Confused

Maybe Dave's should have a new forum for people posting personal ads.

We can all post ads and pics and then mix and match as we choose. Rolling Eyes
