Around here the rice paddies have been planted and filled with water, so I'm expecting the yearly onslaught of mosquitoes any day. And with the little ba**ards comes the mogi man on his motorcycle, spraying insecticide throughout the neighborhood, bringing joy to all the little boys and girls who like to run and play in the cloud. I don't mind the odor too much, but I do close my windows because there can be too much of a good thing. I also enjoy the outraged posts about this custom.
So, has anyone seen the mogi man in their neighborhood yet?
BTW, we had a 5 minute shower this morning at 9:30. Was that the beginning of the rainy season? Or is that tomorrow? |

No, it's the ridiculously high electric bill I get slapped with each summer due to having to keep the a/c on even during nice weather in order to keep the windows tightly shut for fear of the idiot mogi man spewing through my neighborhood while I'm at work and can't close the windows.
I hadn't really thought about being upset over the slaughter of the mosquitoes. I used to hate them because they bit me. But now they don't bite me. I've got ten living in my apartment right now (perhaps this is their place of refuge?). I guess I should start marching with signs to Save the Mosquitoes. |

Oh how I do enjoy a good display of righteous outrage. Thank you. |

i wish a dozen or so mogi men would march through my area. i'm surrounded by farms and ostrich sh*t. the air is swarming with flies, mosquitos, gnats, and those little black bugs that are similar to flies. it's for that reason that we, too, have to keep our windows closed. |

how about some mogi nets? i was tempted to get some and rig them to my windows when they're open, but i've been keeping my windows closed to avoid the dust/pollution/whatever those funky particles are |
