Ok...I haven't made a decision on a job yet, and I'm about to go crazy. I swear this is my last "do you know about ...." question.

Here goes.

Does anyone know anything about a new English Village opening in Incheon on July 1st?

Maybe I should throw all the contracts in the air and let fate decide...

Thanks

New anything here means you will be on the cutting edge of confusion. They typically start off pretty good and then reality hits a couple months into the project and HUGE, knee-jerk reactions to perceived problems start to happen and a downward spiral goes from there.

New teacher and NEW PROJECT are almost ALWAYS a receipe for disaster.

Do yourself a big favor. Find a nice school with GOOD references from MORE THAN ONE current teacher. Check via e-mail so the boss can't read it and make their life hell for being honest.

Don't sweat the little stuff. ASK the current teachers about medical, pension, number of classes per day/week/month, overtime, unpaid admin work and anything else that is important to you. Get an answer that you like and jump on a plane.

If you just "toss and hope" then you have about a 70% chance of getting screwed. Do your homework and you have about an 85% chance of having a good/great year.

Best of luck to you.
