|

I just submitted my final grades and am wondering how long it will take until I get my first email asking for a change.
For me this was the worst semester I've ever had in the 5.5 years I've been teaching at the university level. Freakin' music students suck. |

I'm guessing you're already getting them.
High schoolers do it, too.
"Why'd you give me a 97?"
"Because you did quite well."
They must do this to their Korean teachers, too. And it must work since it's so common. |

I have a full-proof way of escaping the whiny (sp?) emails after grades are submitted. I meet all my students in person, one-on-one, and show them their grades, including each individual criterion for grading. They have every chance to challenge their grade in person when I meet them (which they've never done).
Problem solved! |
