|
|
The classroom I teach in has a DVD player hooked up to a Sanyo projector. I attempted to show a video today and went in two hours early to familarize myself with the machine as it was my first time using it. I managed to get in running but the projection was WAY too bright! Whenever there was any amount of white it nearly blinded me and it was very hard to see anything. Later I told the students that I wanted to show a video but that there was a problem with the machine. They got the most technologically savvy students to help. No use. We wached the movie anyway, but it was very annoying and hard on the eyes.
My question: I think that maybe the projector is too close to the screen. Could this be the problem? Or is there some way to adjust the lens, etc. We tried all the adjustment buttons but no luck.
I wish to show films again in the future but not with this problem. Any ideas? |

Yeah, sounds like it was too close to the screen. How big a picture were you projecting?
Oh, and go here to check out the recommended projector placement for your model.

Find your projector and use the projection calculator. As you'll see, having too small an image will make it too bright to watch. |

| You could also find the onscreen menu and dial down the brightness and/or contrast (almost all projectors have this feature, I believe). |
