Many a morning, I wake up to a littering of 'da bang' prostitution cards on the ground in my driveway, on card windshields, and on the street in front of my place. I've even seen cars drive down my street with someone throwing a generous handful of these cards out the window while driving past.

Well, this morning I saw a mother with her two young children walking out of the villa opposite mine. The youngest child (4 years old?) picked one of the cards up and asked his mom "뭐에요?" The mom didn't answer him and made her son throw the card back on the ground without answering him.

Man these cards bug me on so many levels!

My ex students used to trade them like I traded baseball cards when I was a kid.

Yes. I have shoeboxes filled with them. Go to a trading exposition at Kintex next month.

Ya know, the funny thing is, those pictures are of Japanese chicks taken from the internet. Using Japanese models to promote Korean prostitutes..... gotta love it here.

One thing I've noticed is the cards are different in different gu's. My hood used to be quite racy, sopmetimes nipples even. But they've toned it down. But Ive seen the full on nipple cards in other areas. Dang!

But yeah, I think it would be weird to be a parent and your little girl picks one up and says "This is what I want to be when I grow up!"...... Shocked

One of the best places to go hunting for those cards is Sillim. That's where I've found the most pornographic ones. I collect them as souvenirs to send to people back home.

those cards are great. My first neighborhood in Korea had tons of them. The best part was acting innocent when seeing them and asking the Korean coworker what they are.

My friend and I used to live there, and we'd collect them on our way home from drinking. We intended to make "Memory" games with them for Christmas presents, but we were too lazy to carry through with it. I ended up sending a box full of them home to a friends with the short message: "I'm having a great time in Korea!"

No such fun in Hongdae.

I collect those cards too. THey make great book marks, and great art for the wall. I also intend(ed) to make a memory game with them. What a great Christmas present for some one! (and you can be sure that they do not have one already)

This past Christmas I hung them on my Christmas tree, and I made little Santa hats for them out of red felt and pom-poms. It was quite funny.

I stopped picking them up because I have so many of them. I still do look though, in case I find some really good ones! Hey...we all can se a good laugh.

Be careful if you follow up on those cards. There was an instance reported on Dave's a couple years ago about a foreign teacher who was lonely and called them and the operation traced his phone to his current employer. He was promptly fired. Perhaps the thread could be found again if anybody remembered it.

They do the same thing in lots of countries. In London for example they put up little posters in practically every phone booth in the city. You can't make a call without looking at 50 mini-ads offering....well.... The ones with photos of Cindy Crawford and Anna Kournikova are extra funny! Who knew Cindy and Anna were turning tricks for 60 ??? Rolling Eyes Seems like a bargain!
