I work in an elementary school and for the past three weeks we have had student teachers here. The first week they just observed and now they are teaching the classes. We have two more weeks to go. The ones who are going to teach English have been teaching with me each morning. I am an assisstant here so they do the lesson plans and i assisst with the teaching but they do most of the teaching. Anyway, after two weeks of watching and participating I have seen some quite good classes and quite a few bad ones. I have decided to put together a suggestion/idea list on 'teaching with a native speaker', to give the student teachers. At the top of the list will be: please introduce yourself to the foreigner BEFORE the class. I have lots of other suggestions to go on the list but thought i would post on here to see if any of you had suggestions too.
So, here is your chance. These teachers may be working in a school with you in the future. All ideas and suggestions are welcome (please try to keep them positive).
