Ramien is so "what can I cook in 5 minutes" that it just seems absurd to order it in a restaurant... Kinda like ordering peanut butter and jam.

(midschool exams, no students here, school wants me to wait)

I've ordered ramen at 식당s that do the works with it, ie. add a variety of ingredients such as cheese, egg, buffalo testes, etc.

Yeah, I order the ramen if I a) need a quick bite or b) want the special kinds of ramen they have. This one shop has a dong ass ramen that really hits the spot.

I've done that couple times, but I have a really good excuse for doing so. There's one "famous" noodle shop in Ilsan (at La Festa shopping mall, near Burger King) which sells REALLY SPICY noodles. Their stuff is even more spicy than 신라면! *drools!*

Then there are the Japanese style ramen places: dang tasty.

But there actually are places that do some funky things with the Shin Ramyeon--although I've never ordered the testes set(Tibby's the real connoisseur, a nadstronome, as it were) I have had the turtle spleen mandu special.

I've ordered peanut butter and jelly sandwiches before. Goes down great with kiwi juice.

Ramen got demoted. It used to be a sit-down sort of meal, and there are still a few places in Korea (more of them in Japan) that serve ramen. It's almost impossible to find them in Los Angeles, however Sad .
