Help!
I have the latest Norton and just recently it has been giving me increasingly frequent messages of "worm intrusion " blocked. High Risk.
Gives me info. about the type (in numbers) and the port attacked.
Any programs I can download online that might help me scan and get rid of whatever the problem is, within my computer. Processing speed seems okay, computer is new and works well. But I'm just concerned about this message every 30 or so minutes.......
Suggestions?

You don't have worms. It's attemtped intrusions into your computer which are being blocked by Norton, so you're safe.
If you're not firewalled up, then do so. Not the crappy Windows XP firewall, an alternate software. I'd recommend Sygate as opposed to the AOL of the firewall world, Zone Alarm Pro.
You may also have a program which is being accidentally blocked or causing some kind of mix up and is being viewed as a worm by Norton. If everything is running fine on your system then this is unlikely. |

thanks StAxX,
Relief. Everything working fine but the message comes frequently. Same message.
I will look into the firewall and ask the teck guy at work. I believe I only have the XP firewall. Will this firewall cause connection problems or hamper my internet speed/ease of use????

Normally they give an identification of the Worm
Copy paste the name in Google and see if the name pops up
Normally they will tell you how to check for effective intrusion |
