For the teachers who are renewing the contract,

I am a member of EPIK Who is working at one of Gyunggi area middle schools. In our contract (EPIK), it says we can take a home leave for 2 weeks , beside from the holidays we take. Is it possible to take this 2 weeks holiday without going to my home To Canada?? In my contract, I can go to other country (America or England) but the airfare must be less than the round trip ticket to my home.

Here is another question, let's say if I want to like to go to Japan (package deal - all including hotels, meals, and airline ticket), can I still go at the expense of education board instead of my flight to Canada if it costs less?

Please let me know^^

Wow. That's quite the post.

Ask your principal or call EPIK.

From a Korean whos lived in Canada about a year or so.

Longer than a year, the grammar would be better.
is my guess.

You can hardly call that a nice comment.

I still have no idea why you display general contempt to 90 percent of the people who post (if not more).

Do you mean 90% of the people or 90% of the posts?
If it's the latter it's probably because you've been reading too many things posted by patchy or rteacher.

90%, please, I would have said 70%, 80 tops Wink

Sorry, but no, you can't pass as a Gyopo/native speaker. You could, however, pass as a naive speaker or a knave speaker.

Uh...sure you're veteran(May 6) enough to determine when I am tongue in cheek or not? Also, if I remember aright, you are from the Netherlands or some such place, yes? Sure you can gauge all the tones of inside English humor? Seems you couldn't even peg the OP as a Korean...

In any event, the OP is certainly a Korean trollster, and if I was a fresh off the boat Korea hater, yes, my comment may be construed as, "not nice"(excellent diction, by the way). But as I have been here since 1997, love the country and its culture, and have seen this nonsense quite a bit more than you, let's term it "aggressively derisive" and call it a draw.

In the end, J, there is a very clear way to tell if I hold you in contempt or not(it's only 10-15% of the board, tops)--and even after this pissy little post, I do not hold you so.

But I do feel discriminated against in that you didn't yell at the cow.

P.S. Riley, you shut your trap you!

Mhhh, i was actually trying to make another point, i guess me being not a "native english speaker" makes it difficult for me to explain my intentions clearly ...

What i was trying to say is, whether this person is a Korean native or any other nationality, why be so discrimitive so fast?

The question remains, thus why so much contempt?

Maybe we should discuss this thru PM instead of openly on the boards.

In a sense, yes, you might say I discriminate by only calling you out, but then again it are your posts that "sting" me in the eyes. I guess i have my own biases towards individuals.

PS: I am from Belgium, just a little to the south of the Netherlands.

Let us not criticize Love Teaching's English unless we can do better in Korean.
I'll make a try:

For the teachers who are renewing the contract:
계약을 연장하는 선생님에 의하여:
I am a member of EPIK who is working at one of Gyunggi area middle schools.
In our contract (EPIK), it says we can take a home leave for 2 weeks, beside from the holidays we take.
Is it possible to take this 2 weeks holiday without going to my home to Canada?

In my contract, I can go to other country (America or England)
but the airfare must be less than the round trip ticket to my home.

Here is another question:
다시 한 질문하겠습니다:
let's say if I want to go to Japan (package deal - all including hotels, meals, and airline ticket).
Can I still go at the expense of education board instead of my flight to Canada
if it costs less?

Please let me know.
