I just graduated from college, I have worked in before and after school programs so I know how to work with kids, but besides that, I've never taught in a classroom.
I also just received a job to teach english in Korea, and I'm worried I won't know what to do. Did some of you have the same thoughts? I'm not worried about living in another country because I have visited Seoul and I have a lot of friends there. I'm just worried about the actual teaching part. Does everyone worry about this?
I am very open and outgoing, I think I'm just thinking about all this now because it's close to my time to go to Korea. Does it become easier once you're there and learning? |

| It all depends on where you're working. What kind of school will you be at? If you're at a hogwan with other foreigners it should be pretty easy to figure out what to do. I think that 80% of teaching is natural aptitude and you'll find out soon enough whether you have it or not. You man not necessarily get any training at all, so be ready for anything. The kids (or even adults, if that's what you'll be teaching) will probably really want to see your photos from home, so bring some along. |
