| What are you planning on doing for the last week of school? I'm sure your schedule is similar to mine and you have a week of school after finals. (weird eh?) Finals will be finished so I'm assuming it's time to celebrate. Games, movies, activities? I was thinking about showing a video and having a worksheet about it, but we only have 45 minute classes. I've been tallying points for all my classes over the semester and the top class is getting pizza. What are you planning? What's worked well for ya in the past? |

Totally daft if you ask me. Haven't given it any thought. Probably won't differ a great deal from what I usually do, as I never use 'the book' any more. Start off with a game, do some question-and-answer stuff that they ask and answer amongst themselves (usually with a specific verb tense in mind, although I've been doing mixed-tense questions recently) and finish off with my A-Z quiz (eg. A - person in a movie, 5 letters....C - can mean a bit cold and mean good etc etc). I'm on A-E at the moment and by then I'll probably be near the end. |

Everything after exams is anti-climatic, so I don't even bother to conduct
a word game or activity anymore. This year I'm showing a DVD by Canada's
renown Cirque du Soleil. The kids just love it. |

| Any movie in English will work.... And the kids will care less if they don't see the whole thing.... A worksheet of questions to listen for during the 40 min or so you show works well.... My 1st graders (middle school) don't get graded on my material so I've taken the last two weeks to show a movie... I have a strange contract that ends before exams... Lots of unpaid time off.... |

At the end of the year, summer, downtime, look out the window time, world cup time..............
I like to do bookmaking. Kids get REALLY creative and are busy, cutting, drawing, writing, sharing.
I get 3 scenarios, 12 pics. Easy level has writing where the kids fill in the blank . Ex. My Day.... Pic and "I get up at _____ in the morning. Cut and paste the pics, design cover, illustrate. Other 2 scenarios different and kids can draw in their own pics too. Provide examples and the kids share the books afterwards.
During all this, I keep a video rolling, in English. All in all this works great.
