Yes, not many countries like that and yes, it does lend hope..............America has some great "dissent", just hard for others to hear about it. Just doesn't get the play..........you've done your part in letting me know.....

Just an add on, much more to comment later about the Noam speech. But all those who argue that the U.S. had to do the right thing, etc...and invade, should view this. ...

And also from the blog, all those thinking that about staying the course etc....should view these two presentations. Just pictures but just underlines that no good has come of the decision to lie and create a scenario to invade another country......

I've always been an admirer of Chomsky--too bad we'll miss him as we'll be heading out to West Point this fall for my husband's class reunion--his plan is to go back and teach there and from what Mr Canuckistan tells me there's always been a good mix of differing political types academically including hiring quotas on never-been-in-the-military types, so I'm not that surprised about the Chomsky invite.

too bad regular universities don't try to staff their faculty with a range of thought, it's become downright "McCarthyist", in reverse of course, on most campuses.

How about a little Chumpsky comparing America to Japan while hangin with an Islamic facist/terrorist enabler....this should be fun.
