Good Afternoon,

Got a friend who is heading back to the U.K., with his Korean wife, after several years in Korea. He has just about completed the paperwork for himself and his family to go back to the U.K., but he was wondering how to go about sending his cash home. Obviously, the amount of assets and cash that he is has far exceeds the 10 million won a year allowance.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If he can prove he earned the money fair and square, there is no limit to the amount of money he can send home. But he needs to have the documents on hand.

Nope. Any bank should do as long as he has the paperwork.

He has a KOREAN wife.... why find a Korean friend?

She can go to the bank, get a moneyorder / cashiers check payable to him or whoever and take it with them or mail it. This is the cheapest way but they will need a bank account where they are going to in order to cash it.

Alternatively they can wire it. Still need a bank to send it to.

They/she can get an international ATM / VISA / MC from their bank here and just do cash withdrawls with no problem.
