I've gotten my hands on a US passport for my newborn son and I'm going into the Korean immigration office ASAP to get him a dependent visa. Do I need to bring him along or can I just bring his documentation? I don't want to lug my baby around the immigration office if I don't have to. Looked around the immigration website and it isn't very helpful...
Thanks! |

You need both of your birth certificates and the passport for you..Anyone under the age of 21 can be considered your dependent here as long as you have your ARC for the F3 dependent visa good for one year. |

It might depend on the immigration office. When I was living in Daegu, just my husband went to the office. They said that we did not need to bring the baby. With a newborn that is just too difficult. Now, as for the offices in Seoul, I don't know what their policy is. I would either try calling to find out or just go without the baby. I'm almost positive you won't have to take your baby. |

I just did this in Busan last month. You do not need to bring him, just his photo, birth certificate, passport, etc. |
