Does anyone know about companies that hire teachers ONLY for telephone teaching? I've heard about it through the grapevine, but I want to find more information about it. Thanks

Just last month I was interviewing someone who had only ever done phone teaching in Korea. I'm so forgetful that I forgot the name of the hagwon exactly, but I know it was one of the very big kids hagwon chains. Perhaps you should call around the big school chains and ask what they have to offer. Sorry, my help is limited, but I can at least confirm that full time telephone teaching IS out there. Is there any reason though, why you don't want to teach face to face??

Hey,
There is company called HiCall Academy that specializes in phone teaching. I worked briefly for them in December 2005 (the hours weren't so great, I unwisely chose the morning shift, big mistake, they also offer an evening shift). They pay around 15,000 Won per hour, bump you up to 17,000 after two months. The supervisor's name is Lucy. Her e-mail address is [email protected]. If you want to take a look around, the company's website is http://www.hicall.net. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. I'm looking into it now. The telephone teaching is not actually for me, but for my girlfriend. I'm trying to fanagle a bit of work for her. Long story...cheers
