I am having trouble playing ALL of my video files; downloaded through torrents or from sites.

So I think it may be time (it really is anyways) that I do a format on my computer. My rather pressing question for everyone is hte obvious one:
Ain't this gonna mess up my itunes and ipods?

I am thinking that I am going to have to MOVE my itunes library to my external aren't i?
What a waste of time that?
And what about my itunes then? Do I have to use the SAME cd and registration?

Any help? I'm sending this to the apples folks too (nothing on their website that I found.

and ps...sorry for another ipod thread.

Ummm.. what exactly are you asking?

Obviously you're going to need to have a copy of your music library somewhere... I mean, you're formatting your HD, and deleting everything...

If you can store it all on your iPod then you're cool... just get Anapod Explorer so you can bring your mp3s back from your iPod to your PC after the format... I don't think iTunes allows that

If you're concerned about the automatic syncing that iTunes does, then when you reinstall it just go to preferences and make sure it's set to manual sync, that will avoid it wiping your old music off your iPod since it would no longer be in your iTunes library... well, unless you back it up on an external device, or run it off on DVDs
