I now have more than enough Korean to realize they just said could all teachers come to the teacher's room at 3:30 to discuss the student trip tomorrow over the intercom. I also know it won't be very interesting. Hence, I didn't understand a word of it, sorry vice prinicipal Wink

Works with the police, too.

My level of comprehension of Korean drops to almost nothing in that situation. I might repeat hello and thankyou 20 times though.

When they stop you on a motorcycle, or have some other "correction" to your behaviour, I figure if it's REALLY important, someone will have it translated into English.

Awful of me? Cool

Yeah my Korean coworker last year got a ticket for jaywalking in front of the hagwon. The cops that hung around that spot started yelling at me while I was jaywalking the next day, and I just gave a big wave and a smile. They looked at each other and just laughed... not even worth it to come talk to me.
