It should be pretty easy to find a Taekwondo gym...well, everywhere you look. Is there anything in particular you are interested in? For example lessons in English? If that's the case you might be hard pressed.
However, if you feel a little adventerous, and are willing to learn a little Korean ('show me' and 'one more time') you don't really need to speak the same language to learn martial arts.
Since coming to Korea I have learnt Judo, Kung Fu, Taekwondo, and Hapkido. I can not speak Korean and I do just fine.
I recommend getting a friend that can speak Korean to go with you to the gym the first time and help introduce yourself, get an idea of what you'll learn, how much it costs, what time the classes are at, ect. After that, though, you don't need to speak a single word. Just do what they teacher does. |
