|
|
Hello... I'm new to this site and I'm thinking about moving to
Seoul to teach English at a public school. I've been doing some research and Seoul seems to be an expensive place to live (ranked anywhere from #2 to #9 on the lists I've read).
I'm gonna be making 2 million won per month with my a rent free apartment. Will this salary be sufficient in Seoul? Are taxi's expensive?
Also, is it a lot cheaper to live in Busan or is it mainly just the rent prices that make Seoul so expensive.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated (message me at [email protected] - that's 2 __ underscores folks!).

| well since rent is the biggest reason why seoul is deemed expensive and most jobs offer free housing, you can survive on 2 million pretty easily. |

| Will I be able to pay off some of the good ol' student debt? I'd like to pay maybe 300-400 dollars Canadina per month? |

| You can probably save half your salary pretty easily, as long as you don't go crazy drinking away your money at the bars every night. |

Yes. If you develop the taste for soju, it's 3000KRW at restaurants and drinking establishments. 1000KRW at the corner store. 2~3 bottles should do.
For more descriminating tastes other traditional Korean alcoholic beverages are also cheap.
Of course there's unlimited beers and liquors, some imports are pricey.
Once a week? Ramp up your goals! |
